Aircraft Maintenance Technician Full Course

An Aircraft Maintenance Technician performs and verifies the preventive and corrective maintenance of aircraft, identifying faults or anomalies, and repairing, replacing and fine-tuning the equipment and components of the electrical, mechanical and structural systems. Sevenair Academy is a Maintenance Training Organisation Part 147, certified under ANAC in accordance with EASA Regulation 1321/2014 with certificate PT.147.005. We offer a high-level training system with classroom and online distance learning. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

EASA Part-66 aircraft maintenance licenses allow you:

— Maintenance on aircraft structure, power plant and mechanical and electrical systems, avionic systems requiring simple tests to prove their serviceability and no troubleshooting.

With a EASA Part-66 license you can work automatically on a Part-145 approved organisation, regardless of the Member State, and even by non-EASA aircraft maintenance companies, through relatively simple recognition processes, which allows to work anywhere in the world!

Admission Requirements

Minimum age of 17 years at the moment of applying
12th grade of the Portuguese high school education, or equivalent
Minimum level of Maths and Physics (High school grade or equivalent) – preferential

AMT Ab Initio [Full] Training

In order to clarify the process of certification, there are several categories of license which cover different levels and skills.

Category A

A Category A aircraft maintenance license permits the holder to issue certificates of release to service following minor scheduled line maintenance and simple defect rectification within the limits of tasks specifically endorsed on the certification authorization referred to in point 145.A.35 of Annex II (Part-145).

The certification privileges shall be restricted to work that the license holder has personally performed in the maintenance organisation that issued the certification authorization.

Category B1

A Category B1 aircraft maintenance license shall permit the holder to issue certificates of release to service and to act as B1 support staff following: Maintenance performed on aircraft structure, powerplant and mechanical and electrical systems. Work on avionic systems requiring only simple tests to prove their serviceability and not requiring troubleshooting.

The approved training course has a total of 2400 hours of class time. The distribution of training hours corresponds to theoretical training and practical training.

Aircraft Maintenance Course [External Students]

The Self-Proposed Examination Preparation course will enable the student to obtain a Part-66 license, which qualifies students as Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. With this course and subsequent obtaining of a license, its holders can issue certificates of release to service, following maintenance operations (including on the structure, powerplants and mechanical and electrical systems) of the aircraft.

The final assessment exams carried out by Sevenair Academy (Cenfortec), as a Maintenance Training Organization approved by the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), and, in addition to passing the exams, the student will need a period of practical experience corresponding to the desired category/subcategory, to be carried out in any certified aircraft maintenance company, so that you can apply for your license to the ANAC.

Practical Experience

Applicants for maintenance licenses for Category A and subcategories B1.2 and B1.4 must demonstrate three years (600 days) of practical experience in maintenance of operational aircraft.

Applicants for maintenance licenses for category B2 and subcategories B1.1 and B1.3 must demonstrate five years (1000 days) of practical experience in maintaining operational aircraft.

Course Schedule

The Self-Proposed Examination Preparation Course for the purpose of obtaining the Aircraft Maintenance Technician license is scheduled to run from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, at a time to be published by the Sevenair Academy.

The course will take place in a face-to-face or remote format, depending on the module and the desired category/subcategory, as well as the training location.
